As a woman who has always had thick hair, I was disappointed to see my hair was becoming thinner. I ignored it at first, thinking it was just part of aging. One day when at the doctor for something non-related, I brought up this problem. He told me that while it could have just been genetic, there were medical causes for hair thinning that we could run tests for. I decided it was worth a shot, and we soon found out that not only was I anemic, but I also have an overactive thyroid. He said that it was great that we caught both of these problems, as they would have led to more serious health problems left undiagnosed. I created this blog to remind others to report any physical changes to their doctors. They could be your body telling you something is wrong.
