Seeing Wrinkles Appear On Your Face? 2 Treatment Options You Have

Posted on

If you are seeing wrinkles appearing on your face, now is the time to take steps to do something about them. It is much easier to treat wrinkles before they become larger and deeper on your face. Below are two treatments that can help with this so that you can decide what you would like.

Botox

Botox is often used to remove wrinkles from different areas of your face. Some of these areas include wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines, crow's feet, smoker lines, and sagging eyebrows.

Botox blocks the signals that come from your nerves that lead to the muscles on your face. Once injected the muscle is not able to contract, and this is what causes wrinkles to soften and relax. The actual procedure only takes a few minutes. The provider injects the Botox into the area where you have wrinkles. You will only feel a prick when the needle is inserted so it is not very painful.

You will see the results in about a week or two. The person that does these injections will give you instructions on what you should not do after the procedure, such as do not rub the injection area and avoid exercise for a couple of days.

How long the Botox injections last will depend on your personal situation, but in most cases, you will have to have the injections done again in three to six months

Microdermabrasion

Another option you have to treat wrinkles is microdermabrasion. The doctor will spray tiny crystals on your face. These crystals then remove the top layer of the skin. This is not painful, so you will not have to have any type of numbing medicine.

This procedure exfoliates and rejuvenizes your skin making it look brighter and softer. If your wrinkles are not very bad, this will work to diminish them. For deeper wrinkles, dermabrasion will be used, which will remove more layers of your skin. This will require numbing medication. After the procedure, your skin will be red for a few hours and may feel tender and swell a little.

This procedure is less expensive than Botox but does not work as well if you have deeper wrinkles on your face. This will last for about a month or a little longer. After this time, you will need the procedure done again to keep the same results.

There are other treatment options available to you, such as fillers, laser resurfacing, and acid peels. To learn more about your options, visit a medical center like Mansfield Plastic Surgery LLC.
